Each year in July, Parks & Recreation month is celebrated across the country. The promotion and theme each year are led by the National Recreation & Park Association, which is comprised of thousands of parks & recreation professionals in every state.

This year we will celebrate the vital role park & recreation professionals play in bringing people together, providing essential services and fostering the growth of our communities. As park and recreation professionals, you make a positive impact on the lives of your community members every single day. Let’s come together this year and show the world just how much parks and recreation means to our communities.

Parks & Recreation Professionals Day will be honored again this year on Friday, July 19th, 2024! Thanks to Brett Leonard, VRPA Board member for meeting representatives at the State House in March of 2024 to get this resolution acknowledged again in 2024.

Parks & Recreation Month VRPA Fundraiser

To celebrate & continue to help serve the Parks & Recreation professionals statewide, the VRPA has teamed up with several agencies & businesses to offer a new VRPA fundraising raffle drawing that will take place on Friday, July 19th.

All you have to do to qualify is donate a minimum of $25 to the VRPA before July 18th!

We will draw raffle winners from our list of VRPA donors on Friday, July 19th.
